Something is not working

When something does not work as it should: a page that will not load, a change you do not see, a PDF that will not download, WhatsApp not opening, or an error message. Also finding your way: search, the New button and the menu.

If nothing here helps, raise a request to the Inbecto team (see the next chapter).

How to

Good to know

When something goes wrong

Fixing a problem

The page is blank, keeps loading, or shows an error

Reload the page, check the connection, then sign out and in again. Still stuck? Clear the site's stored data or try another browser, and raise a help request with a screenshot.

Try these in order:

  1. Reload: pull down on a phone, or press F5 / Ctrl R (Cmd R on a Mac).
  2. Connection: open another website. Offline, only pages you opened before will show.
  3. Sign out and sign in again.
  4. Update: in the phone app, update Inbecto from Google Play. In a browser, close every Inbecto tab and open it again so the newest version loads.
  5. Clear the site's data: in Chrome, the lock icon by the address > Site settings > Clear data. Then sign in again. (Records waiting to be sent offline are lost, so send them first.)
  6. Another browser: Chrome, Edge or Safari, kept up to date.

Still not working? Raise a help request. Say what you pressed, and add a screenshot of the error; the page you were on is sent with the request.

Fixing a problem

I saved a change but I do not see it

Reload the page. If you were offline, the change may still be waiting on the device. A colleague's changes show on your screen after a reload.

  • Reload the page; lists refresh then.
  • Offline? Look for the "Saved on this device" bar: the change is waiting to be sent.
  • A colleague's change: other people's screens update when they reload or open the page again.
  • A role or access change: takes effect after the person reloads.
  • A rate change: affects new documents only; saved quotations keep their rates.
  • Did a red message appear when you saved? Then it was not saved. See its words in Error messages and what they mean.

Fixing a problem

Inbecto is slow

Usually the connection or an old device. Close other tabs, use Wi-Fi or a stronger signal, install the app, and narrow long lists with the search or period filters.

  • Connection: site connections are often weak. Wi-Fi or a better signal helps most.
  • Long lists: search, or choose a shorter period on Invoices and Reports.
  • 3D views, realistic pictures and videos in the design studio use the device's power; they are slow on older phones. Use a laptop.
  • Too many tabs: close the ones you do not need.
  • Install the app: it keeps pages ready and opens faster.

If one page is always slow for you, raise a help request naming it.

Fixing a problem

The PDF does not download, or looks cut off

The PDF is made by your browser's print window: choose Save as PDF as the printer, paper A4, margins Default, and tick Background graphics. Allow pop-ups for the site if nothing opens.

Download PDF opens a print page and your browser's print window.

  1. Destination / printer: choose Save as PDF (not your office printer).
  2. Paper size: A4. Margins: Default. Scale: Default (100).
  3. Tick Background graphics so colours and lines show.
  4. Press Save.

If nothing opens, the browser may have blocked a pop-up: allow pop-ups for your workspace address. On iPhone, use Share > Print, then pinch out on the preview to get a PDF. In the phone app, the PDF opens the share sheet to save or send.

"This document has no saved layout to print" means an old document saved before the current layout; open it and save it again.

Fixing a problem

Pressing WhatsApp does nothing, or opens the wrong number

WhatsApp must be installed (or WhatsApp Web open on a computer). The customer's phone or WhatsApp number on their record is used; correct it there with the country code or 10 digits.

  • On a computer: the button opens WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp desktop app. Sign in to WhatsApp Web first.
  • On a phone: WhatsApp (or WhatsApp Business) must be installed.
  • Wrong or no number: the customer's WhatsApp number (or phone) from their record is used. Fix it on Customers. A walk-in uses the phone typed on the document.
  • Share instead lets you pick any app. If sharing is not available, the message is copied: paste it into WhatsApp yourself.

Fixing a problem

A photo or file will not upload

Uploads need a connection and enough storage in your plan. Very large files can fail on a weak signal; try Wi-Fi, a smaller photo, or another format (JPG, PNG, PDF).

  • Connection: uploads do not wait offline. Try again on Wi-Fi.
  • Size: photos straight from new phones are large. Try a smaller one, or take it again at a lower resolution.
  • Type: use JPG or PNG for pictures, PDF for documents.
  • Storage limit: Subscription > Usage shows how much your plan has left.
  • Permission: allow camera and photos for the app or browser.

Error messages and what they mean

A list of the messages people see most, from "No connection" and "Not in your plan" to "No access to this workspace" and "Limit reached", with what to do for each.

  • "No connection: this needs the internet": reconnect and try again. See Working offline.
  • "No access to this workspace": you signed in with an account that is not on this company's team. See this answer.
  • "… is not open to you": an access switch. Ask your admin.
  • "This page is not part of your workspace": hidden in Settings > Menu, or not one of your services.
  • "Not in your plan": a feature outside your package. See this answer.
  • "Limit reached. Please upgrade your plan": users, products, projects or storage. See this answer.
  • "You have reached your plan's user limit": see this answer.
  • "Your free trial has ended": your data is kept. See this answer.
  • "Please add at least one item": add a line to the document before saving.
  • "new row violates row-level security" or "permission denied": your role or access does not allow that change. Ask your admin; if you are the admin, raise a help request.
  • "This link has expired / is not valid / was already used": see this answer.
  • "Invalid login credentials": see Wrong password.

Anything else: raise a help request with the exact words, or a screenshot.

Fixing a problem

A date or time looks a day off

Check your device's date, time and time zone (India Standard Time). Inbecto uses your device's clock for today's date.

Inbecto takes "today" from your device. If your phone or computer is set to another time zone or the wrong date, new documents and check-ins can show a day off. Set the date and time to automatic and the time zone to India Standard Time, then reload. If the device is right and a date is still wrong, raise a help request with the record.

Fixing a problem

Why does the AI say it is switched off, used up, or that I asked too often?

Inbecto keeps the AI within fair limits for every workspace. It can be switched off for a while, a daily or monthly allowance can be used up, or one person may have asked many times in a short time. Everything else keeps working; fill the form in by hand or try again later.

On screen: Design studio

The AI in Inbecto (the design studio, the voice assistant, Share to Inbecto and site cameras) runs within limits that Inbecto sets so that every workspace gets its fair share. What the message says tells you which one you met:

  • The AI is switched off for now: Inbecto has paused the AI for a short while, for everyone or for one feature. Everything else works as usual. Try again later.
  • The AI is switched off for your workspace: the AI is paused for your company. Raise a help request to ask about it.
  • Your workspace has used its AI allowance for today (or this month): your company has used its share. A daily allowance starts again at 5:30 in the morning; a monthly one on the 1st.
  • The AI allowance is used up: the share for all of Inbecto, or for that feature, is used up for the day or month.
  • You have asked the AI many times in the last minute (or hour, or day): one person can only ask so often. Wait as the message says.

While the AI is not available:

  • On Share to Inbecto, the form comes up empty: fill in the bill, task or lead by hand.
  • In the design studio, the plan, elevations and estimate all work; choose the room yourself and add the picture later.
  • Site cameras keep taking photos; they are read again when the AI is back.
  • The voice assistant says it cannot answer just now; the pages it would open are in the menu.

Sometimes an answer comes from a smaller AI model when an allowance is nearly used up. It may be a little less detailed, so check it as you always would.
